Choose You & Feel Confident This Year!
ISSUE: ADULT ACNE
20% of American adults suffer from adult acne – which is an embarrassing issue for many.
Grace’s Tips:
Try cutting dairy out for two weeks to see if breakouts subside. The estrogen in dairy products like milk and cheese can trigger acne in some adults. Alternatives like almond milk allow you to still get your calcium in, and they taste great!
Don’t just treat breakouts; prevent and treat skin every single day to conquer them. Choose a cleanser with 2% salicylic acid to both treat existing breakouts and prevent future breakouts from cropping up. Be sure to use it every day for best results.

ISSUE: SMILE
Smiling not only makes you appear more attractive and confident, it’s actually proven to be good for your health. The simple act of smiling decreases stress hormones and blood pressure, and increases the feel-good hormones known as endorphins. However, a lot of people who are self-conscious about their teeth won’t even smile.
Grace’s Tips:
The days of metal braces are over! Consider Invisalign clear aligners, the leaders in teeth straightening today. The aligners are nearly invisible and removable – no one will even know you’re straightening your smile when you wear them. And as you can see from the before and after photos (I love that they use real people, not celebrities!), the technology has come a long way and can even treat difficult cases. If you’re curious, you can visit Invisalign.com to find a doctor near you who can give you a consultation – which will plot out exactly how long a treatment would take, and what your final results would look like.*

ISSUE: ROUGH HANDS
Shaking hands is key to making a good first impression, but this time of year, our hands can turn dry and cuticles ragged – making you feel uncomfortable to even show your hands!
Grace’s Tips:
Generously apply a ceramide hand cream to hands (after a warm shower or bath is even better), and cover with cotton gloves for an indulgent overnight treatment that will have you waking up with soft hands. And for clean-looking cuticles – like you just got a manicure – gently use a washcloth to exfoliate the cuticle right after a warm shower or bath. The dead skin cells will slough right off, leaving behind neat-looking cuticles.

ISSUE: BAD HAIR DAYS
Ask any woman, and she’ll tell you – a good hair day can provide uplifting confidence, while a bad hair day can really take the wind out of your sails! This time of year, hair can look dull, dry and be prone to static electricity.
Grace’s Tips:
Apply coconut oil as a weekly treatment for your hair. Simply use a wide-toothed comb (this one by Cricket is even infused with coconut oil!) to brush coconut oil through dry hair. Allow to sit for at least 20 minutes; you can even twist it up and leave it on all day or overnight. Rinse out (no shampoo or conditioner afterwards), and the good fats in the coconut will leave your hair replenished, smooth and shiny. For static electricity, simply keep dryer sheets in your purse. Not only will your handbag smell good, but you can whip one out and run it quickly over strands to instantly zap static!
Suggestion: Cricket Ultra Smooth Coconut Conditioning Comb, $3.15, amazon.com
Thank you for tuning in, and wishing you a healthy and happy New Year filled with confident days!
